AGUADILLA, Puerto Rico –U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued Wednesday 2 aliens from the Dominican Republic that suffered multiple injuries near a cliff in the coast of Aguadilla, in the islands’ northwestern coast.
“There are many risks in making the journey through the Mona Passage, and there are also dangers in the coast,” indicated Xavier Morales, Chief Patrol Agent of the Ramey Sector. “Our agents are prepared to rescue and provide immediate aid to injured migrants.”
Before sunrise on May 15, Ramey Station Border Patrol Agents responded to a landing event near Surfer’s and Survivor’s beaches in the Ramey Base in Aguadilla, encountering a man, who when approached, ran towards a cliff area and fell down an embankment of approximately 60 feet.
Border Patrol Agent contacted local emergency medical services and Search and Rescue staff as the man appeared to have suffered head and back injuries and summoned EMS.
Agents found a second injured individual near the cliff with an ankle injury.
