WASHINGTON – The Federal Election Commission has appointed Neven F. Stipanovic as Associate General Counsel. Mr. Stipanovic, whose appointment became effective August 4, oversees the FEC’s Policy Division, which counsels the Commission regarding advisory opinions, rulemakings, audits, and other matters requiring interpretation of federal campaign finance law.
Mr. Stipanovic joined the Commission in 2008 as a staff attorney in the Policy Division. In 2016, he was promoted to Acting Assistant General Counsel for Policy, and he became Acting Associate General Counsel for Policy in 2018.
Mr. Stipanovic joined the FEC from Baker & Hostetler LLP, where he worked as an associate in international trade. Prior to that position, he worked at Barnes, Richardson & Colburn.
Mr. Stipanovic received his B.S., cum laude, in Business Administration at the University of Colorado at Boulder and his J.D. from The George Washington University School of Law. Mr. Stipanovic also studied international economics at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
