WASHINGTON, D.C. – Moments ago the U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (H.R. 1319), a reconciliation bill spearheaded by House Budget Chairman John Yarmuth (D-KY-03). The legislation will deliver President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, providing critical COVID relief and economic support to the American people while addressing the twin health and economic crises facing the United States.
A statement from Chairman Yarmuth is below:
“Early this morning, the House of Representatives responded to the crises facing families across the nation and passed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. This aggressive plan will provide vital resources to speed up vaccine distribution, deliver immediate relief to working families, and help generate a strong and inclusive recovery.
“It took a dozen House Committees to finalize details of this legislation, which is a testament to the immense and far-reaching impacts of this pandemic on American families, our nation, and our economy.
“The American people overwhelmingly support this relief package. Their lives and livelihoods depend on it – and they can count on this Congress and this White House to get it done.”
