WASHINGTON – Today, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) released its July 2019 Small Business Optimism Index, which reports continued small business optimism and increased expansion, wage growth, and hiring.
According to the July 2019 NFIB survey:
- 57 percent of owners reported capital expenditures, up three points from June 2019
- 32 percent reported higher worker compensation, up four points
- Reports of hiring or trying to hire rose five points to a net 63 percent of firms
“I’m encouraged by these indicators of strong small business optimism. They show continued success for our nation’s 30 million small businesses. Small firms continue to push our economy to new heights,” said House Committee on Small Business Ranking Member Steve Chabot (R-OH).
