Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering & Policy Committee has recommended that Congresswoman Mary Peltola serve on the House Committee on Education and Labor.
“Just two weeks into her term, Congresswoman Mary Peltola has already proven a relentless advocate for all Alaskans in the halls of Congress,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi said. “A proud, outspoken voice for Alaska’s working families, she will bring vital insight to the House Committee on Education and Labor’s work to strengthen Americans’ freedoms on the job – especially the right to organize and collectively bargain. A mother of seven and grandmother of two, Congresswoman Peltola will also be an invaluable partner in the fight to ensure every child has access to a quality education: from investing in our public schools to opening the gates of higher education.”
The recommendation will now go to the full Democratic Caucus for approval.
