WASHINGTON, DC – Republican Members of the House Committee on Homeland Security recently met with representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard Sector National Capitol Region and National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) Boat Operations and Training (BOAT) Program to discuss partnerships that advance our nation’s maritime security.

Utilizing the Port Security Grant Program and other federal grant programs, the NASBLA BOAT Program provides a national standard of training to state and local agencies that allows for interoperability and collaboration with the Coast Guard Boat Forces Units to protect and defend our nation’s waterways.

During the visit, members and staff got a firsthand look at training operations by getting underway with boat crews from Coast Guard Station Washington who were able to showcase their skills.

Below are photos from the visit.
