Shop Small and Support Independent Businesses in Your Community on Small Business Saturday

Small businesses are essential to our Nation’s communities in creating jobs and giving back during times of prosperity and challenge. This year, small businesses need your support now more than ever as they navigate, retool and pivot from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Please join the Small Business Administration (SBA) and organizations across the country by shopping at a small business on Small Business Saturday.

Celebrated each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday is a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for our Nation’s communities and the American economy. Our Nation’s more than 30 million small businesses are a key part of the U.S. economy employing nearly half the private-sector workforce and creating two-thirds of all net new jobs in America.

Whether it is in-person or online, take time this Saturday, November 28 to shop at your local small business. In addition, please take time to encourage your friends and family to shop this Saturday and all holiday season long. Our economy, from coast to coast, depends every day on the success of small businesses.

Shoppers can find local participating businesses on the Shop Small Map provided by American Express. Founded by American Express in 2010 and officially cosponsored by SBA since 2011, Small Business Saturday has become an important part of small businesses’ busiest shopping season.

For more information on assisting small businesses, please visit the Small Business Administration. The SBA is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small business and provides counseling, capital, and contracting expertise as the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.
