Commission meetings and hearings
On February 13, the Commission met in executive session.
On February 10, 2020, the Commission made public Advisory Opinion Request 2020-01. The requestor, Nabilah for Georgia, the principal campaign committee of congressional candidate Nabilah Islam, asks whether the committee may use campaign funds to pay the cost of the candidate’s health insurance premiums while the candidate works full-time on her campaign and maintains no other employment. The Commission will accept written comments on the request during the 10-day period following publication of the request (no later than February 20, 2020) and must issue a response no later than 60 days after receipt of the complete request, that is, by April 10, 2020. The requestor has, however, granted the Commission an extension of time to issue its response to 30 days following the date that the Commission holds its first open meeting at which a quorum of at least four Commissioners is present.
The Commission has posted the 2020 coordinated party expenditure limits, the lobbyist bundling disclosure reporting threshold for 2020, and the presidential spending limits for 2020.
On February 3, Commissioner Ellen L. Weintraub filed a comment with the Securities and Exchange Commission regarding File No. S7-23-19.

February 25-26, 2020: The Commission will host a regional conference in San Antonio, TX for candidates, political party committees, and political action committees.

Other election-related resources
Videos on protecting U.S. elections. The FBI’s Protected Voices initiative provides videos designed to help political campaigns protect themselves from foreign influence. The 2019 videos offer guidance on ransomware, business email compromise, supply chain, social media literacy, and foreign influence operations. Other videos, released in 2018, include cyber hygiene topics such as social engineering, patching, router hardening, and app and browser safety.
